Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (170°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil, greasing it lightly.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt together butter and dark chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat and mix in granulated sugar and whisked eggs.
  3. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and spices until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the brownie mixture into the prepared pan; spread evenly. Layer with pumpkin mixture followed by dollops of remaining brownie batter on top.
  6. Swirl gently for a marbled effect and bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Cool completely before slicing.
