  • 2 lbs sweet apples (Gala or Fuji)
  • 4 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 10 cups water

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples, leaving the skin on.
  2. In an Instant Pot or stock pot, combine apples, sliced ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, and water.
  3. Cook in the Instant Pot on high pressure for 18 minutes or simmer on the stovetop for about 30 minutes until apples soften.
  4. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher or jar to remove solids.
  5. Cool completely before serving warm or chilled.
