  • 1 heaping cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons chai spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • pinch of kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cold ingredients: Combine heavy cream with one egg and egg yolk; chill.
  2. In a food processor, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, chai spice blend, and salt.
  3. Add cold butter; pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Slowly add the cream mixture until dough forms a ball with visible butter pieces.
  5. Shape dough into a disc; wrap in plastic wrap and freeze for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out dough and cut into desired shapes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-22 minutes until golden.
  8. While baking, whisk together glaze ingredients and dip cooled scones in it.
