  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer one sheet of phyllo in the dish and brush with melted butter; repeat with 6 more sheets.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth; pour over the phyllo layers.
  4. Top with the last sheet of phyllo, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  5. Score the top lightly and bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow cooling for about 10 minutes before drizzling with honey and sprinkling toasted sesame seeds on top.
